Exploring Programs
Curriculum and Programs
Where is the CEFA Curriculum derived from?
The CEFA curriculum draws from structured Montessori methodology and incorporates elements of emergent learning approaches such as Reggio Emilia. It is also informed by established early years pedagogy and is continuously refined based on new research on brain development and children’s growth.
What are the four curriculum pillars at CEFA?
The CEFA curriculum is built around four pillars that support a well-rounded foundation in early learning:
CEFA Innovators
Hands-on discovery, science, and problem solving.
CEFA Masterminds
Language, literacy, early math, and critical thinking.
CEFA Creators
Art, music, imagination, and self-expression.
CEFA Change-Makers
Confidence, independence, empathy, and social-emotional growth.
How can I find out how my child is progressing?
Teachers document children’s social and educational development throughout the year and sit down with families to review this regularly. Families can ask questions and share observations during these reviews.
How do teachers share my child’s progress with parents?
Our teachers document your child’s social and educational development and share it with you in a progress report during Parent-Teacher Conferences. Each child has a binder at CEFA with writing worksheets and other work, and parents can request to review it at any time. Meetings with teachers can also be scheduled by appointment by telephone, in person, or web conference.
