COVID-19 Update: CEFA Offers Essential Service Worker Program

Dearest Families,

Re: CEFA Offers Essential Service Worker Program

At CEFA, the health and well being of our students and their families, of our teachers, and our Franchise Partners (school owners) is of the upmost importance to us. This is an unprecedented situation the likes of which none of us have faced before.

The B.C. Provincial Government have deemed that licensed Child Care operators be classified as an “essential service”. By remaining open we will therefore be able to provide a critical service to those in need, especially:

The families of our front-line critical care workers and other families operating within the essential service category.

We still, however, have a great responsibility to ensure our students are safe and healthy, and of course, the same goes for our teachers. We continue to support the Government approach of “social distancing” and other measures in place to combat this virus, and hope your family does the same. Therefore, our policy remains, if parents are able to care for their child at home then they should do so. But we understand that some essential service workers are still struggling during this time of crisis to find child care and thus enable them to work.

We are therefore immediately allowing for new families of essential service workers to temporarily enroll in designated CEFA schools to help them in this time of need. Our usual enrollment fees will be waived, and the service will be provided, on a month-by-month basis. Once this crisis passes then we are required to again open up these spaces to our previously enrolled families.

If you are an essential service worker and require child care during this crisis, please contact us and we will connect you with an appropriate CEFA location: essentialworker@cefa.ca

We hope that during this time of crisis this helps provide some child care certainty to essential service workers in need.

Regards,

CEFA Early Learning
