Essential Qualities We Seek
- A genuine passion for cooking
- Strong budget management and communication skills
- Previous experience in childcare, preschool, or commercial kitchens
- Highly organized with multi-tasking prowess
- Proficient in Health Safety and food safety
- Recent culinary institute graduate; ECE Level 1 and Red Seal Chef is a plus
Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals/snacks; align with approved Menu
- Budget-friendly grocery shopping and inventory management
- Adhere to food safety standards and maintain kitchen hygiene
- Collaborate with staff on children’s dietary needs and adjustments
- Cook from scratch and substitute plant based protein to meet nutritional standards
Qualifications
- Minimum one year experience in preschools, restaurants or commercial kitchens.
- Food Handler Certification preferred; subject to criminal records check.
- English proficiency.
